Established in 1912, the Marin House was originally home to Mr. Marin, a tugboat captain, and his wife. It was built near the end of the Victorian era and it was that architecture from the outside that caught our eye when it went for sale in 2021. We spent much of the next year renovating the insides to bring a modern, bohemian feel to contrast the vintage exterior.
The Marin House has the perfect location for visitors who want to explore the city like tourists but experience a stay like you live here. We are only 4 blocks from the famous Lombard Street, a short walk to Alamo Square, a 15 minute Uber ride to the ferry and surrounded by cute local shops and restaurants. The ultimate San Francisco experience right at your fingertips.
We have hosted guest from all over the country and have booking available all year round. There is no bad time to visit San Francisco, so check our calendar and book those flights... we can't wait to have you!
I'm an east coast native who always romanticized the idea of moving to the west coast. My favorite past time? Scrolling on Zillow, of course. When I saw The Marin House property go up for sale, I went for it! My boyfriend and I spent a year renovating the inside and making it feel like a cozy home in a tourist city. My favorite things to do in San Fran include: biking across the Golden Gate Bridge, reading in Alamo Square + trying every coffee shop I can find. I hope you love this city as much as I do!
